Winter Treasure Fleming is a true South Texas Treasure, having been bred, born, and brought up in the country between the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Corpus Christi.  She began and completed her secondary education and began her college career.  She then transferred to Texas State University for a few years, ultimately graduating from Liberty University in Virginia, with a BS in Criminal Justice, when her husband's career took him to the East coast.  But fortunately for the whole family, they are now safely, totally, and forevermore, back on good old Texas soil!

Treasure began working on various projects with her mom, who was pretty handy repairing and remodeling at their small marina.  At only fifteen, she was already comfortable with use of power tools so when she began woodworking, she was a natural.  Thanks to some talented men in her church, who with skill and patience,  undertook the task of teaching her high school class the art of woodworking

She went on to compete in school competitions at the regional, state, national, and international level with some of her woodworking projects.  She placed 1st in every annual local competition, and went on to place in the top 15 each year as she advanced to international competitions.

As her husband, Capt. Chad Fleming, US Army Ranger, retired, pursued his career, he was often deployed for long periods of time.  This left her with two remarkable babies on her hands, along with and a measure of nervous energy.  She turned to one other thing she had always enjoyed and loved--woodworking.  Every time Chad would return home, she surprised him with project after project she had completed in his absence. He boasted of her talent and proudly showed her first pieces around to his large network of friends and family.

Before long, many were either asking her to build for them or recommending her designs to others. Treasure began collecting barn wood and reclaimed pallets and

began creating unique furniture pieces.  As Chad observed her working, he recognized the abundant joy, talent, and skill she poured into each piece, he remarked, "this could be a fun and profitable business for you while doing something you already love."

Her response to her husband's encouragement was a little slow at first, but she is now "all in".  They formed a company, TFHF, and Treasure is happily at work designing and creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces, made of reclaimed wood, along with her unique staining and finishing techniques, producing gorgeous, solid, handmade items her buyers have come to cherish.
